From Bottle to Glass
Poured with care into its distinctive, gently tapered Pilsner glass, Kasteel Cru will entice the drinkers with its clean, yet textured head of foam, doming gently just over the rim of the glass. Following these pouring guidelines, the beer sparkles with tiny, elegant streaming bubbles.
- Remove the crown from the bottle and, using the tips of the index finger and thumb, hold the base of the chilled glass and tilt to 45 degrees.
- Tilt the bottle slowly to the horizontal and direct the pour at a mid-point in the glass's wall. This first 'splash' will typically cause just enough agitation to 'awaken' the lager, but the skill lies in gently slowing down the pour to create a full, long-lasting head.
- When the glass is two-thirds full, gently return the glass to the vertical, stopping the pour just before the head reaches the brim of the glass. For a proud, more robust foam, carefully 'feed' the remaining lager in-bottle onto the existing mousse.
